Two of the most interesting musicians of the Italian and international jazz and experimental scene, two trumpet players with recognizable styles and languages, for a meeting between generations of sound that share a musical territory that borders on free-jazz.

Originally rooted in the tradition of hard bop jazz, trumpeter Rob Mazurek (born in 1965 in Jersey City, New Jersey) developed into one of the most consistently exciting pure improvisers of his time. As a founding member of the multifaceted Chicago Underground collective and the 21st century fusion outfit Isotope 217, his playing redefined musical boundaries through vibrant sonic palettes that defy categorization. A well-known figure on the Chicago jazz scene, Mazurek collaborated with a number of jazz and experimental rock artists, performing on albums by Tortoise, Sam Prekop, Gastr del Sol, Stereolab, and Brokeback.
Mazurek also paints and experiments with multimedia art. In addition to touring extensively worldwide as a musician, he has had works exhibited at art galleries such as Heaven Gallery in Chicago, Naked Duck Gallery in New York, and Gantner Multi-Media Center in France.

Gabriele Mitelli was born in Brescia, Italy, in 1988. He studied with maestro Beppe Rusconi in Brescia and later with maestro Markus Stockhausen in Cologne, Germany. Since 2012 he performed with some of the most influent players of the jazz and edge music, including Ralph Alessi, Jeff Parker, Rob Mazurek, Markus Stockhausen, Chris Speed, Gianluca Petrella, Simone Graziano, Alexander Hawkins, Giovanni Guidi, Cristiano Calcagnile, Beppe Scardino, Tino Tracanna and many others. He also works as an artistic director and has brought to Italy some of the most important jazz players from the international scene. In 2017, the renowned music magazine “Musica Jazz” appointed him as Best New Italian Talent.
