Dance Wall

Dance Wall is a work-in-progress multimedia installation which analyzes, combines and proposes in real time the performing arts video archive of the Fabbrica Europa Festival.
The 2021 edition is enriched with new video acquisitions, greater data indexing and new Computer Vision systems.
The aim of Dance Wall is therefore twofold: to experience the archive in an instant and emotional form through the projection and to extrapolate and enhance the structural, dynamic and compositional aspects of each performance through the computational analysis of data and images.

Ad Apta

The past is a fluid, volatile matter, constantly subjected to temptation and attempts to make it history. But the past is made above all of stories, plural and as innumerable as the combinations and refractions they are able to generate.
Ad Apta investigates the ever-active possibilities of retelling the past in the light of the present and discovering new ways to read it.
Thus Ad Apta enters into dialogue with the combinatorial art of Dance Wall, proposing new indexing criteria and new methods of exploration that offer the public the opportunity to go through the video archive of the festival with unexpected visions.

curated by Giulio Sonno
Ad Apta is supported by Fondazione CR Firenze and OAC-Osservatorio per le Arti Contemporanee as part of the Call Arte contemporanea e nuove professionalità in tempo di Covid-19
