Sang Jijia<\/strong>, internationally renowned choreographer of Tibetan origin, resident at Beijing Dance \/ LDTX and City Contemporary Dance Company, is looking for 8 professional performers and dancers (aged 18 – 35)<\/strong>\u00a0to be involved in a site-specific multimedia project that will premiere at Stazione Leopolda in Florence<\/strong> as part of the 25th edition of the Festival Fabbrica Europa<\/strong> in May 2018.
\nExcellent contemporary dance technique, compositional experience, improvisation skills, desire to explore new poetics, strong motivation, good knowledge of English language are required.<\/p>\n

Rehearsals will take place at PARC – Performing Arts Research Centre<\/strong>, a center for research, training and promotion of contemporary arts located inside Palazzina Ex Fabbri (Piazzale delle Cascine – Florence), the new headquarters of Fondazione Fabbrica Europa.<\/p>\n

Full-time availability is required from March 19 to May 6, 2018.<\/strong>
\n Saturday and Sunday off except the days of the show (May 3 – 6).<\/strong><\/p>\n

The rehearsals schedule and the contractual conditions will be communicated to the selected candidates.<\/p>\n

Sang Jijia<\/strong>
\nBorn in Gansu, Tibetan Sang Jijia has been dancing and choreographing professionally since 1993, following his studies at the Music and Dance Department of the Central University for Nationalities in Beijing, China. He began his career as a dancer and choreographer with the Guangdong Modern Dance Company. In 1999, he left to join City Contemporary Dance Company of Hong Kong.
\nIn 2002, Sang was selected by The Rolex Mentor and Prot\u00e9g\u00e9 Arts Initiative in its inaugural year to study choreography under William Forsythe in Germany. He continued with Ballett Frankfurt and later the Forsythe Company as assistant choreographer and dancer until 2006. He has been Resident Artist with Beijing Dance \/ LDTX.
\nHis major works include\u00a0Blue<\/em>\u00a0in\u00a0Show Your Colours<\/em>,\u00a0365 Ways of Doing and Undoing Orientalism<\/em>\u00a0(co-choreographed with Willy Tsao and Xing Liang),\u00a0Happening Continuous<\/em>\u00a0for Movement Fiber,\u00a0Unspeakable<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Standing Before Darkness<\/em>\u00a0for BeijingDance \/ LDTX,\u00a0Sticks<\/em>\u00a0for Guangdong Modern Dance Company, and\u00a0As If To Nothing<\/em>\u00a0for CCDC, Pa|Ethos<\/em>, international choreographic coproduced by Fondazione\u00a0Fabbrica Europa, Fondazione Milano Civica Scuola di Teatro Paolo Grassi, Spellbound Contemporary Ballet, Marche Teatro \u2013 Danza alle Muse, Bejing Dance\u00a0Festival, Guangdong Dance Festival.
\nHis works have been presented in Korea\u2019s Chang Mu Dance Festival, Swiss International Dance Festival, International Computer Music Festival, Taipei Arts Festival, Holland Dance Festival, Huayi \u2013 Chinese Festival of Arts in Singapore, Guangdong Modern Dance Festival, Beijing Modern Dance Festival, and Dance Salad Festival of Houston.
\nHe is currently choreographer at the CCDC in Hong Kong.<\/p>\n
