\n Workshop and Performances with the choreographer Sioned Huws<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\nPARC Ex Scuderie Granducali delle Cascine \u2013 Florence
\nand other places in the metropolitan area<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We are looking for 10 dancers<\/strong> for the project Odori-Dawns-Dance<\/strong>, a workshop<\/strong> that will result in some performances<\/strong> in different locations (in Florence and the metropolitan area) to be presented in parks and gardens.<\/p>\n

The workshop will be led by the English choreographer Sioned Huws<\/strong>, active between London and Japan, and will be totally free.
\nThe dancers will be insured but will not receive any fees.<\/p>\n

The workshop<\/strong> will be held from<\/strong> June 28 to July 7<\/strong>, from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm\/2.00 pm at PARC Ex Scuderie Granducali delle Cascine in Florence (address: Piazzale delle Cascine 4\/7), new headquarters of Fabbrica Europa.
\nThe performances<\/strong> will take place from July 8 to 12<\/strong> in the garden of Castello dell’Acciaiolo in Scandicci, in the park of Villa Demidoff in Pratolino, at\u00a0\u00a0Parco delle Cascine in Florence and in the garden of Villa Caruso in Lastra a Signa.<\/p>\n

Sioned Huws<\/strong>\u2019 project project Odori-Dawns-Dance<\/strong> in collaboration with traditional and contemporary dancers and choreographers reveals the poetry of dance and community, as a large family, an aggregate, the situations, and the friendships. With a particular focus to the Shishi-odori, an animistic ritual dance, derived from the complexity of community, landscape and mythology.<\/p>\n

The project is promoted by Fondazione Fabbrica Europa and Compagnia Simona Bucci, in collaboration with\u00a0Associazione Piuma onlus and Il Vivaio del Malcantone, with the support of Citt\u00e0 Metropolitana.<\/p>\n

Sioned Huws<\/strong> started making contemporary dance and performance in New York, whilst studying at the Merce Cunningham Studios. From 2008 she studied Aomori Tsugaru Te-odori dance with Yoshiya Ishikawa, part of her Aomori Project<\/em> in collaboration with choreographer Reina Kimura, and toured to over twenty international venues in Japan, Singapore and Europe.
\nSioned\u2019s work focuses on perception, memory, person and place within choreographic structures; systems patterning small details that allow for the unexpected within a world sensed through an awareness of physical movement; 2009 she was recipient of a Creative Wales Ambassadors Award, 2009 and 2015 an International Program Award The Saison Foundation, Tokyo, in collaboration with ARTizan \u2013 Aomori Project<\/em> and Odori-Dawns-Dance<\/em>.
