CALL<\/strong><\/span> STILL LIVES: FLORENCE<\/strong><\/span> WHAT IT’S ABOUT <\/strong><\/span> REHEARSALS<\/strong><\/span>
The artists DANIEL KOK<\/strong> (Singapore) and LUKE GEORGE<\/strong> (Melbourne) are looking for 3 performers<\/strong> for their performative project STILL LIVES: FLORENCE<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
STILL LIVES by Daniel Kok and Luke George is a project of site specific performances and installations that capture (with ropes) significant moments or movement in relation to specific cultural contexts.
For STILL LIVES: FLORENCE, which will be presented in Florence in month of June as part of the Secret Florence 2023 project, the two artists chose Giambologna’s Ratto delle Sabine<\/em> (Rape of the Sabine Women) to be replicated in the form of a “human sculpture”.

The two artists are looking for 3 people who identify as queer interested in participating in this project.
Daniel and Luke would like to work with people who want to share their experiences within a performance\/installation that will also become a collective portrait.
The performance will take place on June 16, 2023. It will last approximately two hours and will include the process of tying, suspending and untying the bodies of the 3 participants who will be lifted off the ground, accompanied by lights and sounds.
During the performance a video about the 3 participants will be projected which will allow the audience to get to know them better.
The public will be present during the entire process of making this “human sculpture”.

– 5 days (June 12-16, 2023) for about 4 hours a day
\n– different tying systems and different positions will be tested to ensure safety and comfort to the participants
\n– during the rehearsal days, the two artists will also film short video interviews with the participants
