The artistic workshop is conceived, curated and conducted by the artist, dancer and choreographer Sara Sicuro, with the mentoring of Elena Giannotti. Three consecutive weekends of work in which key words such as identity, belonging and sense of place will be investigated to be used in the choreographic creation process for the final performance. The workshop is the result of a collaboration with researchers from the Laboratorio di Geografia Sociale (LaGeS) of the University of Florence as part of the national research project \u201cThe city, outdoor\u201d. In the three cities of Florence, Rome and Palermo, the project studies the ways in which city spaces, and in particular outdoor ones, can be rethought and made more inclusive through active citizenship practices and artistic and creative performances. aimed at: everyone, students, citizens, workers, actors\/actresses, dancers, performers, musicians and anyone who wants to have an immersive experience among the biographical stories and architecture of the community with the aim of developing an artistic path that will flow into a public restitution. A group of students from the SAGAS department of the University of Florence will also participate together with the registered participants.

During the workshop, body practices will be used, from somatic and meditation forms to theatrical techniques, writing and improvisation and exploration of movement, for the final co-creation of a choreo-geographic composition.
At the center of the themes addressed, the vision of “community space” of the architect Leonardo Ricci and his housing project for the Sorgane neighborhood. A neighborhood to be explored both as a lived space, investigating the relationships that characterize it internally, and as a space open to the outside, observing the connections with the rest of the city.
The choreographer\u2019s intent is to restore a collective dance, a ritual, in which the architectures of bodies can tell the microcosm of lives, relationships, habits, smells that belong to the space \u201cof continuity\u201d between inside and outside, the continuous space between the house and the square. A \u2018being\u2019 in the time and place of sharing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\nSara Sicuro<\/strong> is a dancer, choreographer and teacher. She trained at the Scuola del Balletto di Toscana and Opus Ballet and graduated in Modern Philology. Her works are produced by Company Blu and Versiliadanza. She is the author of C\u2019era tutta la materia del mondo 1.3<\/em>, among the 5 finalists of the Theodore Rawyler Prize 2023. She works as Virgilio Sieni\u2019s assistant in the Accademia sull\u2019arte del gesto projects and curates the workshop \u201cDanse et po\u00e9sie: lire et \u00e9crire avec le corps\u201d held at the Paul-Val\u00e9ry faculty of Montpellier. \nThe study of movement, together with that of literature and anthropology, and the researcher\u2019s approach have influenced her choreographic vision and her interest in dance community projects.<\/h6>\n\n\n\n
