Belles de Sommeil recreates on stage the “part of the dream” that is present in all of us: the “magic mirror” that reflects our deepest desires and anguish and which, as in an initiation journey, oers us a glimpse of hope to be awakened by love.

All of the performers are princesses and adolescents, princes and young men, fairies and shamans, kings and fathers, queens and women, thus lifting the curtain of our secret gardens, those spaces that are formed and deformed in our sleep as eternal dreams.

“Despite their young age, the 12 dancers captivated the audience, especially with
the artistic maturity that they used to transmit the director’s intentions”
DANCE&CULTURE ITALIA – Monica Ratti

Philippe Talard, born in France, studied dance, music and theatre at the Centre International Rosella Hightower in Cannes. In this period he had the opportunity to work with the biggest names in the ballet world such as Rudolf Nureyev, Carla Fracci, Mikhail Baryshnikov. In 1974 he was called by Maurice Bejart to the Ballet du XX siècle in Brussels. He became principal dancer of the National Company of Portugal, and later, he joined the Ballet of Rio de Jaineiro and Sao Paulo. Back in Europe, he worked with Royal Ballet of Flanders and in Germany with Susanne Linke, Rheinhild Hoffman, Pina Bausch and the company Tanz Forum Koeln of Jochen Ulrich, performing works created especially for him.
In 1988 he was director of the Theatre of Ulm and subsequently, in 1991, of the National Theatre of Mannheim.
In 2000 he created the International Festival “Danse du Monde”. Today he continues to present his works all over the world, even showing his creations in unconventional places. His projects involved the prisons of Luxembourg, Marseille, Rome (Rebibbia), Berlin, Ostrava, Florence, where inmates had the opportunity to work with professional artists.

Compagnia Opus Ballet, directed by Rosanna Brocanello consists of a stable nucleus of young professional dancers.
The company, based on modern and contemporary dance, has assimilated a variety of techniques and styles and thanks to the expertise of a team of extraordinary choreographers, artists and residencies has evolved to propose a common language among the various genres endowed with a strong expressive impact and high level of technique.
