platform A35
Ritornello is based on a structure that is the first track of the work of the composer William Basinski, “The Disintegration Loops”.
Basinski, in an attempt to transfer into digital format some recordings made on magnetic tapes, noticed that these tapes, deteriorated over time, had a strange effect on the audio track: a motif reiterated to infinity but gradually consuming itself.
Starting from the work of Basinski, I worked on repetition, on reproducing a state of mind up to exasperation.
The music of Basinski returns during the work, even if interrupted by some pop songs and in the same way the dance returns, re-proposed as a loop.

platform A35 develops in the new space of Fabbrica Europa, PARC ex Scuderie Granducali in Florence, an unconventional place.
The project is based on the idea of presenting young choreographers, Italian and not only, whose research shows new creative processes, but also the changing society that is necessarily reflected in them.
