A collaboration between Tempo Reale, Fabbrica Europa, Maggio Fiorentino, Frittelli Arte Contemporanea
For the first time the name of the Florentine Fluxus artist Giuseppe Chiari (1926-2007) appears in the programme of the Festival of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, thanks to a second part of the Maggio Elettrico showcase that turns its gaze, reinterpreting it, to the recent past of Italian experimentation.
La Luce is an audiovisual installation that Tempo Reale created in Turin for Artissima 2018, interpreting an original score by Giuseppe Chiari (La luce, 1966).
The installation offers a dialogue between gestures of noise and silence, duplicated in the relationship between light and dark, triggering a reflection on the very meaning of music.
Loudspeakers and light sources, placed in the dark space, are activated according to a precise score, thus creating an original dramaturgical journey, with sound materials all taken from the domain of electricity or particular soundscapes.
