After the presentation of the first study on September 4 at Le Otto Viottole in the Cascine Park in Florence as part of the Festival Fabbrica Europa 2021, the choreographer and dancer Luisa Cortesi and the saxophonist Dimitri Grechi Espinoza continue their work on the creation Il Segreto with a new residency period at PARC.
Does the movement of the body in the world speak all the languages of the world?
When observing an artwork, first of all we must be aware of the purpose it is intended for, as well as of the meaning it should convey to all those who enjoy it. An artwork is the perceptible accomplishment of a contemplation that an artist aims at achieving. Without the outcome of his effort we cannot really talk about an artwork, which deserves to be defined as such whenever it is designed to satisfy both physical and spiritual needs. In other words, it should be an object of common use and a “support for contemplation” at the same time.
– Ananda Kethish Coomaraswamy
The studies of Ananda Coomaraswamy have masterfully shown, through the textual comparison of traditional Eastern and Western sources, the profound and fundamental role of art and the craftsman for the “well-being” of the human community.
Taking his work as food for thought, we ventured into the journey in search of the “gesture / sound” at the origin of every gesture and every sound, we are convinced that it exists and it can be found.
