Atto Bianco [White Act] by Roberta Racis, one of Fabbrica Europa’s 2024 co-productions, premieres in Castrovillari, as part of the festival Primavera dei Teatri.

With this solo the choreographer and dancer composes a tribute to the maternal figure which is also a study on the white act of romantic ballet. The color white evokes conceptual refractions which the choreographer drew on for this work in which dance, words and singing structure the action.

The white act is generally the second act of shows whose libretto narrates events between the world of the living and an otherworldly dimension. These are acts in which, after the death of a character, usually female, the afterlife manifests itself.

Precursor of an objectification of the bodies, the white act here is the starting point for a personal investigation into fragility and mourning in a broader series of possibilities.

Roberta Racis is a choreographer and dancer. As an interpreter she collaborates among others with Alessandro Sciarroni, Enzo Cosimi, Francesco Marilungo. In her choreographic work she explores the possibilities of interaction between movement, voice and rhythm.
Atto Bianco is the first work of a trilogy dedicated to the theme of roots and family heritage.
