One is struck by the contemporary relevance of a text such as Virginia Woolf’s Orlando.
The story is built upon an archetypal paradox: the possibility of living through an inhuman, almost eternal span of time, across the centuries, shifting from the state of a man to that of a woman. Various encounters and vicissitudes alternate between the physical and symbolic woods of a life marked by silent, drawn-out events.

From the three acts of the RATTINGAN GLUMPHOBOO trilogy, woven together by Caterina Poggesi between 2011 and 2012, Matteo Bennici has created a series of musical pieces collected in an album that serves as the ideal continuation of the creative process sparked by this iconic text.

On this occasion, to mark the revival of RG ten years after Caterina’s passing, the video installation of the third act of the trilogy (4’ 33’’) – created by Maria Pecchioli, performed by Laura Dondoli and directed by Caterina Poggesi – will be screened once more; following this, Matteo Bennici will perform a selection of pieces in a cello solo (35’) taken from the album “RG_TRILOGIA 2012 – 2014”.

Fosca is an evolving network dedicated to creating spaces for inquiry and critical reflection within contemporary culture through projects in the performing and visual arts, with a particular focus on the body. Rather than being a fixed collective, Fosca is a constantly shifting constellation of collaborations between individuals, languages, territories, and fields of practice. It is a platform for the creation, production, and promotion of artistic projects, including performances, workshops, events, study sessions, exhibitions, publications, and radio broadcasts.

Caterina Poggesi (1974–2016) was a director, writer, educator, and psychologist. She founded Fosca in 2006. Deeply committed to contemporary theatre and education throughout her career, she developed numerous original productions and methodologies that continue to be used today.

Matteo Bennici is a Florentine cellist, bassist, and composer. He has written for theater, film, visual arts, and has collaborated with countless bands and artists of all genres.

Maria Pecchioli is an artist and researcher whose practice brings together contemporary art, writing, and participatory practices. Her work explores the relationship between the body, transformation, and emotional environments through artworks, films, sound environments, and workshops.
