KONPIRA FUNE FUNE takes its name from a traditional Japanese game based on rhythm, coordination, and interaction.

Anna Pesetti’s work draws on this playful structure to investigate the relationship between two male bodies, transforming the game into a choreographic and dramaturgical device that explores the tension between rules and freedom, control and surrender, and revealing how a shared structure can become a space of encounter, confrontation, and complicity.

The body is not merely an instrument of execution, but a site of continuous negotiation: every action requires listening, risk, and trust. The game thus emerges not as a form of competition, but as an emotional and relational space capable of holding strength, fragility, precision, and vulnerability. Through the repetition and variation of movement, the relationship continually shifts, revealing dynamics of power, attunement, and mutual dependence.

Anna Pesetti (1999) is an Italian dancer and choreographer. She trained in Contemporary Dance at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK). Alongside her work as a performer in national and international contexts, she has developed her own choreographic research, focusing on relational dynamics, the body as a space of emotional negotiation, and the use of structure as a dramaturgical device. Since 2020, she has presented her creations at European and international festivals and platforms, receiving numerous awards and recognitions. Since 2023, she has been Resident Choreographer and Artistic Director of CollettivoDieci, an artistic platform based in Piacenza, Italy, through which she develops award-winning productions supported by public institutions and cultural partners. Her recent works have received international recognition: Das Unheimliche was selected as a finalist for ICC Linkage (Bulgaria), where it received the Second Prize and an artistic residency at Derida Dance Center (Sofia). The work was also selected for the Stray Birds Dance Platform 2025 in Taipei. In 2024, she was a finalist for Residanza – La Casa della Nuova Coreografia, and Konpira Fune Fune was selected for Anghiari Dance Hub 2025. She has also been awarded international choreographic commissions by Daegu Contemporary Dance Company (South Korea, 2027) and Lei Dance Theater (Taiwan, residency in 2026 and commission in 2027).
