As part of the Fondo di supporto creatività emergente (Emerging creativity support Fund) project, promoted by Santarcangelo dei Teatri and 12 other partners that have established a network dedicated to the productive development of emerging artists, Fabbrica Europa hosts the sound artist Agnese Banti in residency at PARC with a new creation.
Bringing your own voice on stage to question it as something other than yourself. To play and relate to it, to transform the space through the spatialized sound that is revealed on stage.
The compositional research, that draws inspiration from Beckett and Cage, is articulated in monologues, choruses, dialogues and silences thanks to a choreography that combines experiences of acousmatic music and sound art with the idea that loudspeakers are not just sound diffusion devices but also presences which to relate with.
Agnese Banti –
During the residency Yan Duyvendak, artist of Dutch origin, author of works in which he claims the role of human dignity imperiled by our image-dominated society, will hold a masterclass for the artists of the Fondo Agnese Banti and Emilia Verginelli.
Agnese, Delia Banti she/her. Sound artist, musician and overtone singer. Her activity has always been gravitating around many points of attraction: such as choral music, soundscape studies, traditional folk music repertoires, space composition and the collaborative dimension of making music. One of the things that fascinated her the most in recent years is the research made around a sound installation project on frog voices and ancient ruins that she realised between the Electronic Music School of Bologna and the Ionian University of Corfu for her master’s degree.
She collaborates with Tempo Reale, the esteemed centre for musical research, production and education in Florence founded by Luciano Berio and she works on overtones singing projects with the Italian composer Roberto Laneri.
She recently attended Malagola, the School of vocality and international centre for voice studies based in Ravenna and collaborated with the choreographer Marta Bellu and the dancer Laura Lucioli in the show I versi delle mani.
In 2023, thanks to the support of the Fondo – Network per la creatività emergente, she will carry on athe artistic research for a new performative project which will be developed during residencies at Santarcangelo dei Teatri, I Teatri di Reggio Emilia, Fabbrica Europa, L’arboreto – Teatro Dimora e Ravenna Teatro.
