Suspended, I always end up in precarious balance over inexistent lines.
Horizon is the inner consequence of Dei crinali. It continues the research of a vibrant imaginative landscape, an Arcadia that does not exist in reality and yet it is present in the human imagination.
The performer walks into a space that is both inner and outer, an abstraction that exists only in human desires and in the collective imagination. Emotions move the body/metaphor. The chance to enter such a space is liberating: it is a laboratory for the real body to measure itself with the possibility of change there on the horizon.
Horizon also gives a sense to the concealed vertigo of poetry. It is physical and mental work to empty ourselves and slide on the sensations that embrace the body.
With a background formation in martial arts and contemporary dance, in 2002 Manfredi Perego received a scholarship for the Isola Danza dance academy directed by Carolyn Carlson. He graduated at the Fine Arts Academy in Bologna presenting his dissertation on choreographic improvisation. From 2004 to 2014, he was a performer in various contemporary dance companies in Europe and Italy, and worked with, among others, Simona Bertozzi and Damian Munoz. Since 2013, he has started an “image compositions” research based on primordial movements, where sign, space and graphic movements interweave.
In 2014, he won the “Premio Equilibrio” in Rome with Grafiche del Silenzio (Graphics of Silence). His main aim is the active integration of sport elements into his own choreographic research. He is a trainer and attends manifold workshops both in Italy and outside Italy. Since 2015 he is supported by TIR Danza.
Secret Florence‘s core mission of the project is to enhance the attractiveness of the city during the opening week of Pitti Immagine Uomo.
This is achieved through an innovational and high quality artistic proposal intended for a young, international audience interested in unveiling the connections between contemporary artistic languages and the extraordinary historical heritage of Florence.
Secret Florence is produced and promoted the Municipality of Florence with the support of Pitti Immagine and involves a number of Florentine organizations and institutions that work at the international level and represent a plurality of artistic expressions ranging from music to dance, from visual arts to the cinema : Fondazione Fabbrica Europa, Le Murate.
