If there is no sun is a work by the choreographer Irene Russolillo, the video artist Luca Brinchi and the musician Karima DueG together with the dancers Antoine Danfa and Mapate Sakho (Senegal) and Ilyes Triki (Tunisia).
The work has developed within the framework of CRISOL – creative processes, a project conceived by a network of Italian and international structures to promote opportunities for encounters and co-creation processes between Italian and international artists.
Fractures open up in languages when speaking about Africa and Europe, about bodies-territories and borders that oppress. We try to share dreams and desires. And a sense of strangeness. We would like to see our rights recognized and free ourselves from our ghosts. On land and sea, among other creatures, a new community emerges from its state of invisibility. And it embarks on a struggle that is a discourse and a journey, in which the environment changes due to corrosion and blurring.
«Go to the place between our dreams, where all the light is yours. Let your voice be food. May your thougths be muscular. Let us wade in our water».
