Figliasanta is a dance-theatre project that explores the condition of being a daughter while also being a mother to one’s own mother.
At the heart of the work is generativity as a process of transformation, rebirth, and transmission.
The performance investigates the bond between parents and children as a space where memory, care, and identity intertwine and are rewritten.

Through the body of Ludovica M. Poerio, the many facets of being a daughter, a mother, an inherited body, and a generative body emerge in a journey that opens up the possibility of breaking free from repetition.

On stage, Sergio Beercock – through voice, live electronics, and loop station – creates an acoustic ritual in constant metamorphosis, at once a sonic landscape and the work’s inner turbulence. Drawing inspiration from the mystery rites of Kore/Persephone, who descends into the underworld to become a woman and rise again in bloom, he gives shape to a techno-folkloric invocation that accompanies the performer through the successive stages of her awakening.

Ludovica M. Poerio is an Italian dancer and performer, trained with MoDem/Zappalà Danza and and through international artistic experiences. Since 2017, she has collaborated with Abbondanza/Bertoni on several productions. She has worked with a range of Italian and European companies. Since 2024, she has been a performer with Roberto Castello’s Aldes. Her artistic practice brings together dance, theatre, and dramaturgy.

Sergio Beercock is an Anglo-Sicilian performer, singer, musician, poet, and theatre actor. Working across music and performance, he creates and directs works presented at festivals including Santarcangelo and Romaeuropa. His practice intertwines voice, body, and ritual. In 2024, he composed the soundtrack for the film “Sicilian Gods”.
