RRRRRIGHT NOW is not a biopic about Johnny Rotten, nor about the Sex Pistols, nor about the punk movement.
It’s about taking “Rotten” literally, in the very meaning of that chosen name: “rotten.”
Taking punk through its collapse — and through the collapse of the world.
Looking at the moon, not the finger.
And turning Rotten into a prophet, because, as Shakespeare said, “something is rotten in the kingdom.”
RRRRRIGHT NOW crosses punk as ruin and prophecy, transforming it into choreographic gesture. Rotten, ironic, and tragic figures emerge from the cracks of History, haunted by desires and lost futures.
On stage, four performers — dancers and musicians (Eliot Benoist, Mathieu Ehrlascher, Konstantinos Rizos, and for the Florence date, special guest Jacopo Jenna) — embody possible “Rottens”, figures moved by the same feverish irony, in the guise of a hypothetical punk and prophetic Richard III.
Paola Stella Minni (Bologna) and Konstantinos Rizos (Athens) are choreographers and performers. They met in 2015 in Montpellier during the exerce master’s programme in choreography (ICI–CCN / UPV). Since then, they have developed a shared artistic practice that weaves together dance, sound, and theory in hybrid forms. In 2018, they founded Futur Immoral, a dance company based in Montpellier that investigates the friction between disciplines, putting formats and languages into tension. Their works unfold across stage and site-specific contexts through a dramaturgy of poetic dissonance, irony, and risk. KILL TIRESIAS, RRRRRIGHT NOW, and VOUAR form La trilogie de la Voyance, a triptych that explores voyance as a choreographic gesture and poetic possibility in the face of the collapse of reality.
As co-artistic directors of Futur Immoral, they are engaged in choreographic research, collective writing, and long-term collaborations with artists, thinkers, and institutions across Europe. From 2020 to 2022 they were associate artists at the CDCN Le Pacifique in Grenoble. Since 2022, they have been associate artists at the Théâtre La Bulle Bleue in Montpellier, a creation centre that brings together a permanent ensemble of actors with diverse abilities. In this context, they are developing the project Euphoria, La Bulle Bleue danse le Sacre.
