The city as a space of imagination, as a vantage point from which to begin the vision essential to creation.
Francesco Fei, born in Florence and acclaimed as a director through his work on numerous music videos for leading Italian musicians, including Franco Battiato, Litfiba, Ligabue, Verdena, Bluvertigo, Carmen Consoli, and many other, is the guiding figure at the center of the workshop dedicated to the art and techniques of the music video.
A lecturer in film directing at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bergamo, his first feature film, Onde, was selected for the prestigious Rotterdam Film Festival as well as many other major international festivals, including San Francisco, Rio de Janeiro, and Karlovy Vary. The film won the Jury Prize at the Festival du Film Italien de Villerupt and was highlighted by critics as one of the most interesting Italian debuts of 2006.
He is the author of “Piero Pelù. Rumore dentro”, a documentary presented at the Venice International Film Festival and the Festival dei Popoli 2025, which tells the story of the rebirth of an icon of Italian rock through silence, fear, and self-discovery.
