Temporary Tempobeat is a performance that focuses on the relationship between movement and sound. Through a dynamic and light performative structure, the work explores vocality as an extension of action, exploring the gesture in its synthesis.
The performance combines contemporary dance, portable wireless technology and beat boxing, a technique particularly used in street dance that consists in reproducing the sound of drums and other musical instruments through the use of mouth and voice.
The choreography develops in real time according to a path counterpointed by phonemes and vocal beats that build a temporary sound environment where all the performance elements are merged into a single body.
The work is designed to be a shared experience, a practice in which dancers are also authors.
Ariella Vidach AiEP Avventure In Elicottero Prodotti
In 1996 Ariella Vidach and Claudio Prati established in Milan the dance company Ariella Vidach – AiEP, widening the geographic and artistic horizons defined by Avventure in Elicottero Prodotti, a pre-existing cultural association founded in Lugano in 1988 with other artists, in order to enhance the research on new technologies applied to contemporary dance and performing arts.
For more than 20 years, AiEP’s artistic path has been exploring interactivity in a growing of complexity: from video projections on stage to nearly invisible sensors worn by the dancers, passing for motion capture and computer graphic, the relation between body, choreography and interactive systems has gone deepening and the interferences between art and technology have become more and more refined and evocative.
Ariella Vidach – AiEP has been awarded the World Summit Award WSA 2013 during the Congress held last October 23 to 26 in Colombo, Sri Lanka, an initiative of the United Nations. The award went to the interactive system INaxyz, judged “one of the most innovative and technically advanced products applied to the dance in the world.”
