(I have a daughter, but I am not her mother.
And we don’t share any part of our genetic background.
It’s me who looks so much like her.
When they ask us what we are, we don’t know what to say.
We look at each other.
And smile.
That smile, it’s a secret word.)

Starting from a private matter, I would like to interrogate the forms that have no name, to deflagrate the concept of being daughters.

DAUGHTERS is a dance performance that, starting from a biographical point, tells about a family bond that lies outside biology. Through elements of choreographic and literary writing, it challenges the univocal conception of being daughters, and reflects on relationships whose definitions are still lacking.
The research investigates the relationship between writing and dance. Not only two languages, but also two bodies, treated as matter.
– Teodora Grano

Author, performer, and researcher, Teodora Grano has worked without a permanent residency in the fields of theatre, circus, performing arts, contemporary dance, mainly in unorthodox formats. She trained and works between Wroclaw, Athens, Berlin, Brussels, and Rome. Founder of the collective ALIX MAUTNER, she is a permanent collaborator with CollettivO CineticO.
Her research is based on a future literature, where the connection between writing and the body puts reading at the heart of the study.

Attraverso Sant’Orsola is an invitation to stay within the process, to experience the museum as a living space, a site of meaning-making and connection.
An evening of dance and performance, listening and imagination, that reactivates a lived architecture, revealing the generative potential of contemporary art as a tool for care, belonging, and transformation.
The invited artists — Teodora Grano, Poliana Lima, Blanca Lo Verde, Lupa Maimone — inhabit the space of Sant’Orsola, which hosts the group exhibition The Rose That Grew From Concrete, with performances that weave together body, voice, and memory in dialogue with time and the evolving architecture.
