Three artists from different fields come together for an intuitive composition of images and sound. The framework for this is provided by a media installation with a triple video projection. The performer Yoshi Shibahara, the musician Achim Mohné and the media artist Egbert Mittelstädt are situated in the room. All three agents are networked to each other.
The basis of Egbert Mittelstädt’s world of images are fragments of panorama photographs of the location from the performance venue. Egbert Mittelstädt is able to control live the spatial and time sequence of the photographic elements as well as all other factors such as brightness, colour, mix proportions etc in real time. Yoshie Shibahara takes these images as the stage for her improvisations and is thus able to move virtually through these spaces.
A video camera records these movements and feeds these live images back into the composition on the three projectors. With his world of sound Achim Mohné creates a basis for the performer’s movements, but can also directly influence various aspects of the visual compositions such as the speed and rhythm of the image sequence.
This process creates a continuously changing photographic image which merges with the movements of the performer and the sound world to form a unity. An audiovisual “real-time composition”.
