DANCE IN MUSEUMS AND CONTEMPORARY ART CENTRES
In recent years, side by side with their normal exhibitions, the main international contemporary art centres and museums have begun to offer their public performance events, and in some cases specific departments have been created to deal with projects of this type.
The Moma in New York, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Museo Reina Sofia in Madrid, the Tate Gallery in London, the Maxxi in Rome, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago are only a few examples.
What role might the performing arts have in the mission of a contemporary art centre ?
How can live shows be set into the programming policy of a museum?
What are the artists proposals?

PRODUCTION, MOBILITY, NETWORKING
Participants have in common a long-lasting experience in supporting artists and cultural and creative workers.
Artists without borders, neither aesthetic nor geographic, mobile and open to innovation and experimentation.
Lending an ear to their needs and expectations, the debate will analyse different networks, particularly the “dance houses” (EDN European Dancehouse Network) and share a number of experiences in Europe in support of artistic development, training and mobility of choreographers and dancers, as well as of performances and dance projects in transnational contexts. Discussion will focus on production and post-production processes and mutual services enhancing entrepreneurial skills, as well as on adequate residency spaces and contexts where to meet and network.

DANCE SPACES IN THE MEDITERRANEAN AREA
Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Lebanon, Turkey: choreographers who also create projects, spaces, initiatives for the development and support of contemporary dance.
The table for encounter and debate will trigger discussion between these experiences and those representing Italy, Holland, Greece, France; experiences and artistic and social realities widely different, focusing on research and contemporary creation to create reciprocal dialogue.
What are today’s prospects for the development of these realities?
What issues and what strong points are there?
Does the “intercultural dialogue” formula still have meaning? What form of collaboration, if necessary, is possible in our time?
A short period of reflection with the potential for further development, also through shared action.

BILATERAL WORK AND COOPERATION: FROM PLANNING TO PRODUCTION
“Networking”, “co-production”, “internationalization” have for years been keywords for European operators. Yet many things are changing or have changed, often paradoxically.
The operators’ professional conscious has now metabolized a supra-national approach that requires further integration in the cultural policies of national institutions.
How to gain greater attention from the Institutions? How to urge for adequate legislative tools?
Reasons and opportunities for projects, participation in competition announcements and co-productions?
In this framework, what value do more direct, bilateral or even cross-frontier projects have?
How to nourish network activity interlacing with consolidated exchange models between similar artists and homogeneous operators with practices and experiences apparently allogeneic?
