SHIFT, the project co-funded by the European Union and coordinated by Cie Omar Rajeh & Maqamat (France), with Fabbrica Europa and Albania Dance Meeting (Albania) as partners, is launching a

CALL FOR THE FINAL EVENT Dance People – Le Happening
to be held in Lyon from June 19 to 21, 2026.

The Call is open to artists, choreographers, dancers, researchers, architects, poets, circus artists, social thinkers, and other creatives from across Europe and the Mediterranean, whose work engages with space, community, and shared action.

SHIFT is rooted in questioning spatial hierarchies, dissolving the distance between performers and audiences, and creating new formats of expression that move from visual aesthetics toward aesthetics of action.
SHIFT, which stands for Shaping Harmony, Innovating Forms & Thought, questions the forms of space organization in people’s lives culturally, politically and socially. The project seeks to explore new formats of artistic expression, community engagement, and audience interaction, involving artists, experts, and citizens from multiple EU and Mediterranean countries.

SHIFT is looking for proposals that:
– explore collective presence and participation
– challenge conventional uses of space
– open new forms of dialogue between artists, citizens, and communities
– reflect values of generosity, care, and togetherness with a strong critical approach to current political realities
