L(‘)oro are all the women that I am not.
L(‘)oro are all the women that I am.
L(‘)oro, it is you, it is him, it is you.
L(‘)oro is where I find it.
L(‘)oro is where I find myself.
Using the metaphor of the gold rush which took place towards the end of the 19th century and involved many Italians, Io e l(‘)oro asks the question “where is your gold?”
On stage a constant mutation occurs. It is an invitation to travel in time and space, in an endless search for form and meaning. Does changing context modify identity? Does it inform on it? What pushes some to leave and others to stay?
During this journey, only one thing remains permanent: the body, place we cannot escape from, where we were born and will die. As for the rest we are all free to go, get dressed and undressed and look for our gold. Where shall it be? The search unveils in front of the audience. Or is the answer actually lying in their gaze?
