Carusə | sine Sole sileo by Pierandrea Rosato is a solo that traverses the silenced dance of tarantism: an embodied practice in which movement becomes a transformative device, capable of converting trauma into vital energy.
The project investigates the symbols, rhythms, and generative processes of trance and possession dances, exploring what continues to persist within contemporary hauntology. At the center of the performance is a young male body: youth understood as porosity, an intuition not yet domesticated, a capacity to resonate with historical and affective memories that have not fully settled; masculinity as a device of displacement, reactivating a phenomenon traditionally associated with women as a ritual gesture and an act of prayer.
The body engages with the practice of endorcism, states of trance, and moments of static suspension, exposing itself as both vulnerable and generative, traversed by historical, political, and affective tensions that amplify the poetic force of the performance.
The musical dramaturgy arises from the entanglement between ancient operatic arias sung by female voices and the young contemporary male body: rather than accompanying movement, it interrogates it, creating a space of resistance, tenderness, and affectivity.
Carusə takes shape as a ritual suspended between the tension of the past and a possible future: an act of listening, responsibility, and resistance, in which the wound becomes a possibility for transformation and rewriting, and the young body becomes the ground upon which memory may be liberated.
