AZALAB – migrant and urban music and cultures is a workshop open on the Metropolitan City of Florence that aims to activate, through work sessions with professionals, under 35, immigrants and young people of second and third generation, an overview of urban and migrant cultures by means of a network of artistic residencies spread across peripheral neighborhoods.

AZALAB wants to develop a work on music as intangible territories of knowledge, comparison, and as means of inclusion and social expression. After the multicultural musical residencies experienced within the European project Azalai – Laboratoire Nomade (2012-2013), since 2017 AZALAB intends to expand its work to imagine a scenario of dialogue on an open Mediterranean. For this reason, the project will involve young artists and people from different cultures, who can together create new cultural and creative landscapes.
