Coefore Rock&Roll by Enzo Cosimi is a concert-performance, a dilated and horizontal choreography, involving visual and spatial elements in transmedial and interdisciplinary forms.

With a realm of childhood nightmares, broken toys and coloured blankets – a visual horizon inspired by the artist Mike Kelly – there looms the ferocity of a heinous crime that questions both the individual and the whole of humanity: the act of killing the one who brought you to life.
The work discerns the dual profile of Orestes, imprisoned within the conflict between imposing a new order upon the world and yet being damned for life for the murder of his own mother. In the chill of an implacable love and revenge, the icy yet passionate figures of Clytemnestra and Electra stand out, accompanied by the tribal echoes of the Furies (Erinyes), led here by an icon of club culture and Roman and international experimental techno music, Lady Maru.

The structure of the choreography unites text, vision and performative action into a fluid and poetic dramaturgy. This hybrid form of the work allows the performative language to trespass into other disciplines, in particular music and the visual arts, in the construction of a choreographic installation with a dramaturgy both horizontal and expansive.

Enzo Cosimi is one of the most preminent Italian choreographers. Over the years, the creations of Compagnia Enzo Cosimi have been presented at the major theatres and festivals in Italy and abroad.
He has collaborated with Italian and international artists of excellence, including Miuccia Prada, Luigi Veronesi, Richie Hawtin, Aldo Tilocca, Louis Bacalov, Aldo Busi, Daniela Dal Cin, Robert Lippock and Fabrizio Plessi. During his carrier, Cosimi has brought to the stage more than 60 original. In the last years, Cosimi created two trilogies: Sulle passioni dell’anima (On the passions of the soul) about collective fear, desire and pain, and Ode alla Bellezza – 3 creations on diversity (Odes to beauty: 3 creations on diversity) investigating the social and political sphere, talking about homeless people, homosexuality in mature life and FtoM Trans people.
From 2018 he has been working on a new project, Orestea – Revenge Trilogy, that had its debut with Glitter in my tears – Agamennone, followed, in 2020, by the second chapter, Coefore Rock&Roll – performance version.
In 2014 Cosimi won the Premio Danza&Danza for the Best Italian Production on the Year with Sopra di me il diluvio, and in 2018, received the National Critics Prize ANCT.
In 2019 the biography Enzo Cosimi, una conversazione quasi angelica – 10 questions for domestic use by Maria Paola Zedda was published by Editoria e Spettacolo publishing in the series curated by Paolo Ruffini and Matteo Antonaci.
