After the success of Bombino and Vieux Farka Touré concerts at Stazione Leopolda, and the training activities at Palazzina Ex Fabbri, Laboratorio Nomade of the Festival au Désert arrives at Le Murate. Progetti Arte Contemporanea from July 12 to 15. Exhibitions, talks, installations, music, to analyze and understand from different perspectives the current cultural and geopolitical scenario of migrations.

The exhibition “Take Refuge” by Simone Margelli (opening July 12, h 18:30) – realized starting from the study of reception centers in Tuscany – and the sound installation “MadreLingua” (MotherTongue) by Saverio Lanza – which reinterprets lullabies of immigrant mothers – will create the atmosphere for round tables and meetings, including, Wednesday, July 13 at 18:30, “Le zone calde della terra: Mali, Niger, Senegal tra risorse e conflitti” (The hot areas of the earth: Mali, Niger, Senegal, between resources and conflicts) by Cospe and Associazione Transafrica, coordinated by Valentina Grazzini, with Ibrahim Kane Annour – Tuareg author of the book Il deserto negli occhi (The desert in the eyes), Silvia Bergamasco – COSPE responsible for West Africa, Marco Pinzani – Transafrica president.

On July 15 at 19.30, music with Tunisian singer and musician Ziad Trabelsi of Orchestra di Piazza Vittorio who proposes the “Liu’ud” project, accompanied by Fabrizio Cardoza (colascione and viola da gamba), Francesco Tomasi (lute, theorbo, medieval guitar) and Simone Pulvano (percussions), in which the music of the Renaissance tradition meets the sound universe of Middle East.

The project will end on July 30 with the great concert of Tinariwen in Livorno within the festival Effetto Venezia (Piazza del Luogo Pio, h 22:00, free admission), opened by Dinamitri Jazz Folklore (h 21:00 h, free admission).
