Il vile is the second album released by Marlene Kuntz over twenty years ago, in 1996. The band from Cuneo has decided to present it again in response to the requests coming from the audience.

Marlene Kuntz began forming in 1987 consisting of Luca Bergia on drums and Riccardo Tesio on guitar. Franco Ballatore joined the band on bass guitar the following year. In 1989, Cristiano Godano joined the band playing guitar and writing songs.
Their first album, “Catartica”, was released in May 1994 and is also the first record of the new Consorzio Produttori Indipendenti, the legendary label that ceased its activities in 2002, after having largely contributed to the renaissance of Italian underground rock. The disc already contains many of those that will become “classics” of the band, still in great demand by the public at their concerts. At the end of the year the disc is at the top of many reader’s poll of the specialized press. The CSI perform their live acoustic version of a song by Marlene Kuntz, “Lieve” and record it in their album “In quiete.”
In May 1996 the released “Il vile”, the first disc of an independent label to reach the Nielsen top 50.
In 2001, Marlene Kuntz was nominated for Best Italian Act at the 2001 MTV Europe Music Awards.
