Born in Cape Verde, dancer and choreographer Marlene Monteiro Freitas is one of the most exciting new talents of her generation. In 2018 she was awarded the Silver Lion at the Venice Dance Biennale.

From September 16th to 26th she is at PARC Performing Arts Research Centre, the new space of Fabbrica Europa, for a residency with German dancer and performer Andreas Merk.

Marlene Monteiro and Andreas Merk have already collaborated on the occasion of Jaguar and Bacchae. Prelude to a purge that will be presented on September 29, 2019 at the Metastasio in Prato in the context of Contemporanea festival.
