Dittico delle Radici [Diptych of Root] is a choreographic journey that transforms the ritual roots of Apulian and Mediterranean culture into a contemporary performative experience.
Through Mors and Wolf Spider, the work approaches tarantism not as a folkloric reconstruction, but as a universal archetype of crisis, transformation, and renewal.
The deeper the roots, the further they can speak. This conviction lies at the heart of the project: ritual is not represented, but reactivated as a living experience, capable of speaking to the present through the body, rhythm, and memory.
Mors leads the audience into the archetypal dimension of tarantism, where the spider, the serpent, the scorpion, and the feminine principle evoke enduring symbols of transformation. From this threshold emerges Wolf Spider, where the pulse of the Pizzica expands into a powerful collective energy, transforming individual movement into a shared contemporary ritual.
Born from the encounter between four authors and two distinct choreographic languages, Dittico delle Radici develops a single artistic vision, transforming a deeply local cultural root into a physical, visceral, and universal language that resonates across cultures, geographies, and generations.
Dittico delle Radici brings together four choreographic voices within a shared artistic vision, where distinct artistic paths converge into a single performative work.
