within the Oltre le mura / Beyond the walls project
A workshop led by Silvia Calderoni and Ilenia Caleo, addressed to performers, experimenters of languages, dancers, and to those who wish to experience performative practices
Writing about the present, giving new bodies to the future within the apocalypse.
During the three days of the workshop we will simultaneously activate the body and the concrete imagination to study how they act on each other. We will experiment practices of improvisation and composition: physical actions, repetition, sweat, relationship with other bodies, human and non-human, and with the surrounding space.
Through the expanded use of the body, of listening and perception we will try other languages, different from the usual ones, to break the consolidated perceptions that organize the inside and the outside, the frame of the representation, the consequentiality. The workshop is a space to do research together, and to train the ability of composition and scenic writing. Who inhabits the scene is the author.
We are interested in the boundary between the sensitive and the imperceptible. On this threshold, we will work on the presence of the performer, on the variation of his/her intensity, but also on his/her precision.
We will work on action and occurrence, on instant dramaturgies, on the memory of the gesture. Making the unexpected happen, training the impossible. The scene as a place-glimpse from which to see.
