The starting point is a simple need to move. Prelude to Persian Mysteries is a research effort that questions the 40-year oblivion of dance in Iran. It is inspired by ancient Zoroastrian culture and rituals, no more existing, and strives to bridge a gap between an invisible past and a fragmented present.
In terms of movement, the solo relies on sound and imagination to bring this four-decade gap into an embodied experience, wondering what the dance might look like & how the dancer might move today. This project is constantly in development, trying to develop its movement vocabulary and discover its own identity.

Coming from a background in Literature, Teaching and Communication, Sina Saberi discovered performing arts in 2012. He helped establish and co-found an independent dance collective called MaHa alongside seven other young artists in Tehran. MaHa has had several successful dance creations in Iran (including Iran’s first Body Movement Festival in March 2016) some of which currently touring around the world. His artistic journey is inspired much by the urgency of the performing arts in initiating cultural dialogues. In December 2017 he founded KAHKESHĀN, an initiative dedicated to dance. He still works as an adviser for various projects within the dance community of Iran such as MaHa and IPAC (Iranian Performing Arts Community).
