Within SHIFT Shaping Harmony Innovating Forms and Thought, a Creative Europe project funded by the European Commission
SHIFT is a cooperation project between Cie Omar Rajeh & Maqamat (Francia), Albania Dance Meeting (Albania) and Fondazione Fabbrica Europa.
Telescope Beirut is a one week creative lab, curated by Paraskevi Tektonidou, curator for dance at the Athens Epidaurus Festival, offering a unique lens to explore, magnify, and discover new perspectives in dance and performance.
Four artists selected from across Europe and the Mediterranean – Ahmad Baba, Clara-Marie Müller, Dominique Tegho, Romane Piffaut – will be accompanied by a group of professionals to advise, support, and inspire their ongoing projects. Invited experts are Paraskevi Tektonidou, Heine Avdal, Roger Bernat, Marco Cantalupo, La Chachi, Basel Naouri, Manolis Tsipos, Mey Seifan.
Telescope Beirut is also open to the public, offering a space for engagement through workshops, talks, discussions, studio presentations, and select performances in non-conventional spaces.
This creative lab fosters an open dialogue between artists and audiences, inviting participation in the exchange of ideas and artistic exploration.
SHIFT aims to transform the way dance is experienced and presented. The project seeks to explore new formats of artistic expression, community engagement, and audience interaction, involving artists, experts, and citizens from multiple EU and Mediterranean countries.
Telescope Beirut is supported by the Swiss Embassy in Lebanon, Goethe Institute Lebanon, the Spanish Embassy in Lebanon in collaboration with Le Monnot Hors les Murs and Beirut Art Center.
