Workshop and Performances with the choreographer Sioned Huws
June 28 > July 12, 2018
PARC Ex Scuderie Granducali delle Cascine – Florence
and other places in the metropolitan area
We are looking for 10 dancers for the project Odori-Dawns-Dance, a workshop that will result in some performances in different locations (in Florence and the metropolitan area) to be presented in parks and gardens.
The workshop will be led by the English choreographer Sioned Huws, active between London and Japan, and will be totally free.
The dancers will be insured but will not receive any fees.
The workshop will be held from June 28 to July 7, from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm/2.00 pm at PARC Ex Scuderie Granducali delle Cascine in Florence (address: Piazzale delle Cascine 4/7), new headquarters of Fabbrica Europa.
The performances will take place from July 8 to 12 in the garden of Castello dell’Acciaiolo in Scandicci, in the park of Villa Demidoff in Pratolino, at Parco delle Cascine in Florence and in the garden of Villa Caruso in Lastra a Signa.
Sioned Huws’ project project Odori-Dawns-Dance in collaboration with traditional and contemporary dancers and choreographers reveals the poetry of dance and community, as a large family, an aggregate, the situations, and the friendships. With a particular focus to the Shishi-odori, an animistic ritual dance, derived from the complexity of community, landscape and mythology.
The project is promoted by Fondazione Fabbrica Europa and Compagnia Simona Bucci, in collaboration with Associazione Piuma onlus and Il Vivaio del Malcantone, with the support of Città Metropolitana.
