choreographic device for voice, cables and speakers

To bring one’s own voice to the stage in order to interrogate it as something other than oneself. To play with it and enter into a relationship with it, to unravel and stitch space through the spatialised sound that is revealed on stage.

The compositional research is articulated in monologues, choruses, dialogues and silences thanks to a choreography that combines experiences of sound art with the idea that loudspeakers are not only sound diffusion devices but also presences with which to enter into a relationship.

Speaking cables is an open device that, through the combination of its constantly evolving compositional cells, allows for different dramaturgical possibilities in relation to the stage, acoustic space and audience.

Agnese Delia Banti is a sound artist, musician and overtone singer. Her activity has always been gravitating around choral music, soundscape studies, traditional folk music repertoires, space composition and the collaborative dimension of making music. She graduated with a sound installation project on frog voices and ancient ruins that she realised between the Bologna Conservatory and the University of Corfu. Over the past few years, Banti has been working with the Florentine Centre for Music Production, Research and Education Tempo Reale, collaborating on harmonic singing projects with composer Roberto Laneri.
